The mighty Biferno
David Williams has chosen the mighty Biferno Rosso as one of his choices for the Best Christmas Wines in The Observer. He says
"A really great price for a mature, comfortingly old-fashioned wine from the somewhat obscure Biferno appellation in Molise in southern Italy. A blend of Montepulciano and Aglianico, this has mellowed beautifully into a smooth, late-evening, fireside red."

Tim Atkin MW is impressed by Campania's Feudi di San Gregorio and their Greco di Tufo. In The Times he chooses it as a wine of the week, describing it as

Decanter magazine selected Carmel Winery's Petite Sirah 2006 as a Wine of the Month for July. The review said
"This wine is deep and dense, run through with spice and concentrated black fruits. Robust and fully flavoured, there is nonetheless a crisp, crunchy aspect to the wild berry fruit, with an herbaceous hint on the finish."

Ser Lapo - 5 stars in Decanter

Ser Lapo, the latest Chianti from Fonterutoli, has just received the highest award - 5 stars - in Decanter Magazine.
This is a fantastic result for such a well-priced chianti.
The panel described it as 'Savoury, vegetal, nutty, smoky nose. Great power, with leathery notes on the palate. A robust, gripping, serious red."

Planeta Chardonnay a 5 star wine
