    Good dark fruits with a hint of spicy oak. Palate is bright and juicy with well-balanced fruit, oak and appealing tannins. Will improve for up to 5 years.

  2. 2011 Chateau Mille Roses, Margaux

    Deep ruby with top notes of roses and raspberry eau de vie, a middle register showing spicy wood with vanilla, almond and plum pudding and finally cocoa and coffee. Layered, very fine tannins and a medium body with incredible length and depth.

    This Cabernet blend is another dark, rich wine in the Skillogalee tradition, with intense colour and powerful, warm aromas and flavours. The wine is full and soft with sweet, leafy fruit flavours, rich vanillin oak and firm drying tannins on a lingering finish.

  4. 2011 Chateau Bonnet Red, Les Vignobles Andre Lurton

    Purple and very bright. This appetising wine has black fruit flavours and a touch of strawberry. It is decidedly round on the palate with soft tannin, fine balance and a long red fruit aftertaste.

  5. 2012 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Chateau Ste Michelle

    The rich, concentrated Washington red fruit for this easy, accessible style of Cabernet Sauvignon is produced by Chateau Ste. Michelle, the founding winery of Washington State. The palate delivers complexity and structure, with its robust blackcurrant and plum flavours, and soft, silky tannins. A wine to savour on its own or with a mouth-watering rare fillet steak.

  6. 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva, De Gras

    Deep garnet in colour with hints of purple, has a classic nose of cassis and ripe berry fruit, with hints of spice. On the palate it is full bodied, with a fine structure of ripe tannin and complex concentrated fruit.

    Warmth, sharpness, and ripeness are key here. Strawberries, oak and cassis on the nose. The open, accessible palate structure is enlivened by blackberry and cassis with a hint of green pepper, with ripe, soft tannins lending complexity; and a long, silky finish.

  8. 2011 Leston Cab Sauv, Howard Park

    Dark and dense cherry in colour with a bouquet of warm and primary bright fruit notes of black currant and mulberry with a perfumed lift of sweet mint, cocoa and freshly rubbed herbs. The palate’s opulent fruit weight and supple fruit tannins are deftly cradled by fine oak flavour and tannins. A mineral and chalky structure enhances palate texture and length.

  9. 2012 Organic Cabernet Sauvignon, Soleus

    Deep brooding purple in colour with a vibrant nose of blackcurrant fruit, hints of liquorice and a touch of oak. The palate is full bodied but soft and juicy, packed with brambly briar fruit flavours, hints of spice and the oak makes a luxurious return on the finish.

  10. 2010 EJ Church, Long Meadow Ranch

    The nose has notes of blackberries, the briar patch, cedar, dried herbs and a hint of smoky black tea. The palate is structured and refreshingly generous with additional flavors of dried plums, cherry and cola. The well-knit tannins and pleasant mouthwatering acidity support a persistent finish laced with rich notes of cedar and vanilla.
