  1. 2010 Châteauneuf du Pape Rouge l'Accent de la Roquète, Dom Roquète

Bright red. Dark berries and cherry on the nose, with complex garrigue, licquorice and olive nuances. Fleshy, pure red and dark berry flavours are complimented by layers of mouthfilling, ripe tannins. Gorgeous sweet fruit on the finish. Overall, a very balanced and elegant prestige blend, without overextraction or excessive alcohol levels.

  2. 2013 Maison Saturnin Rosé, IGP Gard, Laudun Chusclan

Beautiful salmon colour, delicate nose marked by raspberry, blackberry and aromatic spices.

  3. 2013 Les Granges de Félines Grenache Merlot, Domaine de Belle Mare

A blend of Merlot, Grenache and Syrah, this is fresh and fruity with red berry and cherry character and a clean, fruity finish. If you're after an easy quaffing, well made, fruity red this is the one.

  4. 2011 Variation, Domaine de Montvac, Vacqueyras

Candied fruit and spice on the nose, fine sweet tannins, generous body with currants and prunes with a fine, smooth finish and no oak.

  5. 2013 Grenache Rosé, Montagne Noire, Vin de Pays d'Oc, Foncalieu

Attractive onion-skin/salmon pink colour with a very pale hue, this rosé is well-balanced and classy. Ripe and rounded strawberries dominate the nose and on the palate, floral, mineral and savory characteristics give it complexity.

  6. 2013 Gigondas Tradition Le Grand Montmirail, Domaine Brusset

Medium ruby. Aromas of black cherry, currant and liquorice. Lush but bright in the mouth, with noteworthy depth of flavour and restrained sweetness. Finishes with ripe, dusty tannins and excellent persistence.

  7. 2010 Châteauneuf du Pape Tradition, Domaine de la Janasse

Deep red-ruby. Fruit-driven aromas of cassis, redcurrant, smoke, spice and animal fur. Soft, lush and ripe, with enticing fruit and good balance. Easy going, generous and balanced for early drinking appeal.

  8. 2011 Faugeres, Domaine des Prés Lasses

Subtly spicy, with ripe red fruit aromas and flavours. Beautifully soft and generous texture with silky-fine tannins and characteristic Southern French 'garrigue' flavours - thyme, rosemary, marjoram and other wild herbs.

  9. NV The Nostalgia Rare, d'Arenberg

In the glass it’s a burnished bronze with an alluring rim of olive – illustrating the great age of some of the parcels that have gone into this wine.
The nose is at first a cascade of walnuts toasted almonds and rancio (drying, mature complex oak character).
It then opens up to dried fruits, pears and apples with a sprinkling of cinnamon spice, further inspection gives up toffee, dried figs and burnt butter.
The palate is very lively, tingling with spice and lift – a fantastic balance of freshness and age, the sweetness kept in check by the rancio.
It’s complex, layered and focused with a silky mouthfeel and great lingering length.

  10. 2010 The Gypsy, Shiraz Grenache, Ken Forrester Wines

The character is somewhat wild, a little brambly with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, dark spices, with vanilla scents and a distinct, concentrated red-fruit focus. Great for laying down and keeping for at least ten years but already rewarding if allowed to breathe in a decanter.
