  1. 2009 The Laughing Magpie, d'Arenberg

The wine has an enticing mix of primary fruit characters entwined with the first hints of moreish secondary nuances.
There is an enormous concentration of blackberry and blackcurrant on the nose and palate, a whiff of flowers, ginger and stone fruit that we can attribute to the Viognier and depth is built through more savoury notes of fennel, fresh leather and cedar.

  2. 2007 Rosso di Toscana, Siepi, Castello di Fonterutoli

A highly concentrated wine with sweet and dense tannins, it features a unique and original character that is appreciated by wine lovers throughout the world.

    2010 Antu Syrah, Ninquén

    (6x75cl)

Deep, brooding, inky purple in colour with a developed, aromatic nose dominated by ripe black fruits and smoky oak. The palate is full bodied and concentrated, dripping with spicy blackberry fruit and a fair wedge of toasty vanilla oak, finishing soft, supple and rounded.

  4. 2004 Château Gruaud Larose, Cru Classé, St. Julien

A forward, deep purple wine with a sweet blueberry, kirsch and jam scented nose, medium bodied with more rounded up-front fruit than most of the other serious wines of St. Julien.

  5. 2012 Dolcetto Lagrein, Heartland

Deep, glass-coating ruby in colour. Blackberries and wild herbs with smoked meats and spice on the nose. In the mouth, earthy flavours and fresh acidity from the Lagrein mingle with sweet, red cherry and spice of the Dolcetto.

  6. 2007 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, Il Poggione

Intense ruby core with a garnet rim. Elegant nose with black fruits, leather and sweet spice followed by a balanced palate and a very long, seductive, finish.

  7. 2011 Dorilli Cerasuolo di Vittoria, Planeta

Carefully selected Nero d’Avola and Frappato di Vittoria grapes are sourced from the beautiful Dorilli estate to produce a wine made that is available only in limited quantities. The nose is full of ripe black cherry, cardamom, vanilla and cinnamon aromas while the palate is soft and round with ripe tannins. The flavours of sweet spice, smoked meat, marjoram and prickly pear make it ideal as an accompaniment to the spicy regional cuisine of Sicily.

  8. 2010 Basket Pressed Shiraz, Skillogalee

This Shiraz is another dark, rich wine in the Skillogalee tradition, with intense colour and powerful, warm aromas and flavours. On the nose and the palate there are berryfruit and plum characters and hints of eucalyptus or mint can sometimes be found. Tannin structure is fine but firm and there is a good level of natural acidity.

  9. 2010 Stickleback Red, Heartland

Fragrant, spicy, juicy and full bodied. A rich violet / purple colour. Chocolate spice and black fruit characters of cherry and plum on the palate, with a vibrant blackcurrant lift. The Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine a rich, savoury character. Dolcetto enhances the blend, offering firm tannins to the mix. Lagrein contributes spiciness and a fresh, crisp acid profile, enhancing the wine's structure.

  10. 2012 Anaperenna Shiraz Cabernet, Glaetzer

Enticing liquorice and fragrant herb notes on the nose, revealing hints of dark stone fruits and cassis with layers of roasted coffee beans. The key characteristic on the palate is the textural tannins that provide support for the supple yet restrained palate - finishing with freshness, purity and length.
