It has to be admitted that driving around the vineyards of Southern Italy in July is not without its attractions. On a recent press trip – and on our way back to Bari airport – we decided to ‘take 5′ on a strip of beach adjoining the autostrada. There I asked Tim Atkin about the many well travelled grape varieties we had encountered en route. Excuse the noise of Adriatic waves in the background!
