Enotria enhances its specialist wine credentials with Great Western Wine acquisition
Enotria is very pleased to announce that terms have been agreed for the acquisition of Great Western Wine, a well-established wine supply business based in Bath. Like Enotria, Great Western Wine’s primary business is in the On Trade, where it enjoys an exceptional reputation for wine expertise and customer service, backed up by a portfolio of boutique and family-owned wine estates.
Great Western Wine was founded 27 years ago by their Managing Director, Philip Addis. Philip will, with immediate effect, be joining the Enotria Board as Regional Sales Director where he will manage both the existing Great Western sales team and the Enotria sales managers outside of London. All other staff from Great Western Wine will also transfer to Enotria and the thriving retail shop and its other facilities in Bath will remain under the new merged business.
Alison Levett, Enotria Chief Executive, says:
“I am absolutely thrilled that such a high quality business as Great Western Wine is becoming part of Enotria. Like Enotria, Great Western Wine has been founded on a passion for wine, a portfolio of fabulous family wine estates and a total commitment to service, so I am extremely confident that we will have an exciting time working together over the coming years. Of course our first concern for both staff and customers is to ensure a smooth transition and a warm welcome from Enotria.”
Philip Addis says:
“This is a new and exciting era for Great Western Wine, its staff and suppliers. Philosophically, Enotria are surprisingly similar to us and together I believe we will be able to assemble the very finest and most interesting range of wines available in the UK. I’m looking forward to what will be a fabulous new challenge.”
Customers will have a chance to taste highlights from a combined Enotria / Great Western Wine portfolio at the Enotria roadshow tasting at Bordeaux Quay restaurant in Bristol on September 28th.
