There is no better recommendation for a wine than to win a major trophy in an international wine competition. Scrutinised, swilled and cogitated on by some of the world’s best palates, often put through several rigourous rounds of tastings until the medals are grudgingly awarded, any wine gaining silver, gold or trophy in either the International Wine Challenge or the Decanter World Wine Awards can be guaranteed to have something very special about it.
