Amaral

Leyda Valley (Chile)

...

Another exciting new entry to our list is from Chile’s newest and most radical cool climate area, San Antonio’s Leyda County. The 620 hectare site of Amaral borders the Maipo River and the Pacific Ocean. The Humboldt current brings cold winds from the Pacific, and the site benefits from maritime breezes, fog and cold evening temperatures The wines produced here are described by winemaker Jaime De La Cerda as ”Whites from the Edge” as they owe their crisp acidity to the strong coastal influences here.
