Domaine Combier
Crozes-Hermitage (France)
Before 1990 all the grapes from Combier’s 13 hectares of vineyard were consigned to the local co-operative. However, when son Laurent Combier returned from oenology school imbued with a vision of the heights that could be achieved with the estate’s grapes, the family built a winery and began making its own wine. Today the estate covers 19 hectares, and the wines are considered amongst the very best of the appellation. All the wines from Combier are made from organically grown grapes.
