Inycon is a range of premium wines from Sicily. The wines take their name from an ancient wine festival traditionally celebrated in the village of Menfi on the western coast of the island. The wines are made by the innovative Settesoli cooperative which used to be known simply for the quantity of wine it produced. Settesoli realised that Sicily’s myriad natural attributes, not least amongst them the abundant sunshine, could be tapped with the introduction of modern techniques and technology in the vineyard and the winery. The variety of temperatures, soils, and altitude mean the availability of sites is suitable for a breadth of international and indigenous varietals. The Cantine is now one of Europe’s most important co-operatives, and its international reputation is soaring. A forensic attention to detail is exemplified by a computer-mapped traceability system so that every bottle can be traced back to its source vineyards, guaranteeing high quality control. The result is shown in the pure varietal character that the wines display.
