Amidst the unique architecture of the hilltop town of San Gimignano, the late Giovanni Panizzi helped to cement its reputation as a wine destination as much as a historic place of interest. His wines set the standard for this unique appellation. Panizzi’s 2007 Vernaccia Riserva was the only Vernaccia to receive a Tre Bicchieri (three glasses) award in 2011.
