Pago de los Capellanes

Website : www.pagodeloscapellanes.com

Pago de los Capellanes, considered by many to be the modern face of premium Ribera del Duero, is located near the village of Pedrosa de Duero nestled deep in the heart of the Burgos region where some of the finest fruit can be found. The Rodero-Villa family began to realise their dream back in the 1980s by converting the modest estate, then consisting of a mere 2000 vines, into the 100-hectare estate it is today to demonstrate their constant commitment to quality. All harvest yields are actively reduced to 5,000 kg/ha, well below the permitted allowance of 7000 kg/ha. The vineyards of Pago de los Capellanes are made up of 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) with resulting wines that are powerful and elegant with glossy texture, lively acidity and prevalent minerality due to the clayey, limestone soils.
