Domaine Capmartin
Website : www.domaine-capmartin.comGuy Capmartin is a great example of a winemaker who is adapting a traditional style through modern winemaking know-how, without losing the real character of the grape and its terroir, and the vineyard’s work ethic and biodynamic principles. His red wines are dark and tannic but with lots of fruit, and a softness and approachability unusual in the appellation. Both Pacherenc dry and sweet wines are quite remarkable.

Lively fresh notes of matured citrus fruits derive from the Gros Manseng, complemented by the Petit Manseng, which offers refinement and maturity. The wine is well rounded with a balanced ripe acidity.

The Vieilles Vignes is made from equal quantities of Cabernet and Tannat and aged in new oak barrels. A more approachable wine than the Cuvee du Couvent, and an excellent partner to roasted meats.
