Champagne Jacquart

Website : www.champagne-jacquart.com

The opulence of the 19th century Hôtel de Brimont on the Boulevard Lundy in Reims – with Krug and Roederer among its neighbours – is a symbol of confident renewal for Champagne Jacquart, as well as being the company’s headquarters since 2009.

Six years on, there is a new, vintage cuvée de prestige, Cuvée Alpha, which is the crystallisation of Jacquart’s considerable strengths: access to a vast array of the finest vineyards of Champagne (roughly 2,400 hectares at last count) and the expertise of an extremely talented winemaker, Floriane Eznack.

As well as enabling Floriane to pick the best fruit for wines such as Alpha and the house’s benchmark Blanc de Blancs, the many growers and vineyards supplying Jacquart are also a boon for consistency and quality for the core non-vintage cuvée, Brut Mosaïque.

This wine, its name a tribute to the patchwork of Jacquart growers scattered throughout the region, remains a cut above the NV norm and, dressed in elegant modern packaging, is another sign of this go-getting company’s increasing confidence and stature.
