The trend towards lighter, fresher styles is relatively new in the Alicante DO, a trend which has most certainly been adopted by the highly acclaimed winemaker, Pamela Geddes, responsible for this stunning pair from the La Marina sub-zone. The Mariona Blanco is testament to the surge of quality whites we are seeing in Spain; intensely perfumed with exotic flavours including lychee, lime and jasmine. The Alicante Bouschet, with 100% organically grown grapes, is new this year. Pamela makes it using minimalist methods that display the natural, fruit driven characteristics of the local Mediterranean grape.
