Yatir
Yatir Winery was founded in 2000 at Tel Arad in the north-east Negev Desert. It has quickly established itself as one of Israel’s finest small wineries. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of up to 900 metres in Yatir Forest, Israel’s largest forest, in the southern Judean Hills. The flagship wine is called Yatir Forest, and has received consecutive scores of 90+ points from Robert Parker for each of the last five vintages. This includes 93 points for the 2003, the highest score yet received by an Israeli wine. The winemaker, Eran Goldwasser, is a graduate of Roseworthy in Adelaide. Yatir wines are Kosher.
