Tasting Note:
The colour is of shining amber with topaz reflections; the nose typically pronounced with marked hints of dates, vanilla and prunes. This is a full-bodied medium-sweet wine, smooth and warm with an elegant undertone of raisin. NB: sweeter than Terre Arse.
Vinification Note:
A great dessert wine, which is also suitable for 'convivial' occasions. It endures the features of the Historical Florio Reserve of year 1840. Warm smooth and harmonic, it originates from the selection of the greatest vintages of Grillo grapes and is refined for years in the old Florio tufa cellars, where nobleness and harmony of the original Historical Reserve are perpetuated.
Production Area: The districts of Marsala named Birgi, Spagnola e Triglia
Grapes: Grillo, grown with the typical 'alberello' (bush) form, with an accrual output of 4t per hectare.
Ageing: Over 5 years in small Slovenian oak casks.
