Food Matching Note:
Veal with Gorgonzola and sweet-and-sour red cabbage, beef tenderloin steaks with port-rosemary sauce and grilled pork chops with classic barbecue sauce would be a good accompaniment with this fairly long lived wine.
Tasting Note:
This wine is ruby red with purple reflections. There are intense aromas of cherries and spice followed by a dry yet fruity palate with a long finish.
Vinification Note:
Grown in Central Italy in the municipalities of Ancona and Osimo, in the Marche's coastal vineyards, the grapes for Serrano benefit from a special microclimate and soil that produces exceptional fruit. Alcoholic fermentation is on the skins for 8 days at a temperature of 24°C, followed by malolactic fermentation.
