Food Matching Note:
This Chardonnay has the ability to adapt to most dishes and is capable of partnering concentrated, rich flavours whilst retaining an elegant finesse. Recommended with rich pasta or fish with creamy sauces, poultry, veal, smoked salmon or indeed any kinds of seafood, especially lobster.
Tasting Note:
Concentrated, ripe and intriguingly complex on the nose. It releases a cocktail of tropical fruits among its toasted hazelnut and fresh bready aromas. It's full bodied too, filling the mouth with bags of melon and pineapple fruit with hints of bananas all underpinned with a stylish grapefruity acidity and a sumptuously silky finish.
Vinification Note:
The grapes are grown in the Genevrières vineyard not far from the village of Meursault in the Côte de Beaune, which is rated as 1er Cru quality. The bunches are hand harvested and gently pressed into French barrique, a portion of which are new, to complete fermentation. During barrel ageing, the yeast lees are stirred up (batonnage) to increase complexity and concentration. This wine is bottled without filtering.
