100% Chardonnay

Food Matching Note:

Grilled sea bass, mango, grapefruit and avocado salad, potato, spinach and red bell pepper salad with warm bacon vinaigrette or steamed fish fillets with scallion-ginger oil.

Tasting Note:

Pale gold in colour with a subtle nose of tropical fruit and refined oak. The palate is well balanced with ripe fruit and fresh well balanced acidity. The finish is long and concentrated with hints of apples and a touch of creaminess.

Grape:

Chardonnay is the grape for the typically monovarietal wines of the Mâcon.

Location:

From vineyards surrounding the village, Lugny, in the Mâconnais district of Burgundy, France.

Flavour:

A subtle nose of tropical fruit and refined oak and a long finish with hints of apples and creaminess.

USP:

A very good quality, consistent Mâcon-Villages situated around the famous village of Lugny.

Combined:

From the surrounding vineyards of Lugny comes a Macon-Villages of finesse. Made from 100% Chardonnay it has a subtle nose of tropical fruits with a long, concentrated finish.

Vinification Note:

The grapes were destemmed then pressed without being crushed. After 12 hours of maceration, the juice was racked off then fermented for 10 days in stainless steel vats at 18ºC followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine was then aged in tank on its lees for 6 months to 1 year before it was fined.
