Food Matching Note:
Apart from being excellent on its own, Lafóa Sauvignon is delicious with dishes containing fresh herbs, and fish.
Tasting Note:
Very intense floral aromas, reminiscent of elderflower, acacia blossom combined with fresh sage and a delicate well integrated hint of oak, firm acidity on the palate and superb length.
Vinification Note:
The Lafoa wine estate is located on a ridge between Girlan and Schreckbichl at an altitude of 430 metres above sea level with optimum exposure to sunlight. The site is rather dry with soils consisting of sand, gravel and morainal debris. The vineyard was planted in 1989 with a density of 6,000 vines per hectare.
Controlled fermentation, half in new barriques (Alliers and Troncais) and half in stainless steel tanks; partial malo-lactic fermentation.

Harvest starts at the beginning of September when a high concentration of sugar has accumulated in the grapes and yield is restricted to 50 hl / ha.
Controlled fermentation, half in new barriques (Alliers and Troncais) and half in stainless steel tanks; partial malo-lactic fermentation.
