Food Matching Note:
Sautéed duck breast with figs and spicy sauternes / white wine sauce, warm pasta salad with mushrooms and radicchio or braised pork loin cutlets with thyme-lemon sauce.
Tasting Note:
The nose promises a rich, ripe palate, signalling its intent with a wall of intense melon, guava, pomegranate and well integrated buttery characters. The palate is sublimely textured with a glycerol coated, medium to full concentration which is kept lively by its grapefruit and lime acidity. The finish is dry and coated with a soft lick of oak like baking bread.
Vinification Note:
A superbly situated parcel (just below Ruchottes) within this classic vineyard of clay and chalk. The vineyards are at altitudes of between 220 and 340 metres and are eastern or south-eastern facing.
