Tasting Note
:
Black red with tinges of brick at the rim, promising rich concentrated flavours. It has a fine bead and excellent mousse. Dark plums, dusty chocolate with delightful yeast complexity on the nose. A velvet explosion of soft black fruits and chocolate on the middle palate, reigned in by the gentle tannins and long finish.

Vinification Note
:
2000 was a good average year for red wines in the Barossa. Old vine Shiraz grown on the family vineyards of Kurtz, John and Ruediger in the Light Pass and Ebenezer sub districts of the Barossa. Fermented on skins for 7 – 10 days, pressed, clarified and then matured for 12 months in older French oak hogsheads. The base wine was then bottle fermented and aged on its yeast lees for 5 years. Made using Method Champenoise, disgorgement occurred in August 2007.
