The 2008 Mountain Red is a blend of 60% Shiraz, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot and was matured in second and third fill barrels. It will be released in the US this coming Fall. It has a very ripe mulberry nose with touches of fig and apricot. The palate initially shows more composure with its chunky, red-berried fruit profile, but there is an alcoholic blur on the finish. Overall, this is a very decent South African “quaffer.”

Spicy aroma's of black pepper and mulberry mingle with the plum flavours in this soft and approachable wine.
