Food Matching Note:
It is great chilled as an aperitif, and the perfect partner to fruity or salty first courses, such as melon, smoked fish or caviar.
Tasting Note:
Bone-dry with an intensely-scented grapey nose. On the palate it has a food-friendly mineral bite, high notes of lemons, grapes and blossom, and a refreshing backbone of natural acidity.
Vinification Note:
The Reserve range is from a selection of parcels of old vines around Ribeauvillé (around 35 years old) which produces a more complex wine destined for a longer laying down. This is a blend of two varieties of Muscat: Ottonel brings the roundness and the softness whilst Muscat d'Alsace (Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains) adds natural acidity of the wine and fruitiness. After harvesting, the grapes are brought directly to the winery where they are fermented in stainless steel and bottled early without malolactic fermentation.
