  1. 2013 Côtes du Rhône Rouge, Domaine de la Janasse

    Attractive black plum in colour. The nose offers gobs of jammy black fruits intermixed with a delicious spiciness. The body is equally full, vibrant and concentrated. A well structured, well made wine all round.

  2. 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Charlopin

    Deep ruby. Wild cherries and kirsch on the nose. Palate firm without austerity. Tannins textured and layered. Bright red cherry acidity and a hint of iodine lift the finish and lead on to the next glass.

    El Brindis is packed with red and black fruit, displaying herbal scents of thyme and eucalyptus and some toasty spice. There’s a certain Mediterranean generosity and concentration of fruit combined with elegant restraint of this great high altitude terroir.

  4. 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Lucien Boillot

    Medium/full-bodied, exceptionally complex with aromas of bacon, black cherries, liquorice, pencil lead, raspberry jam, a smokiness and dry toast. On the palate one can find a balanced acidity, integrated oak, modest tannins and cocoa powder, coffee, mushroom, peat moss, plum flavours jam, smoky.

  5. This exquisite Grenache-dominant Châteauneuf-du-Pape is sourced from the Plateau du Piedlong, one of the highest points of this world famous appellation. The 70 year old vines produce a spicy red which has aromas of raspberry, cherry, white pepper and dried violet. The full bodied palate asserts itself with flavours of dark cherry and bitter chocolate that align themselves with hints of blueberry, lavender and porcini. The fine balance of tannin, acidity and concentrated fruits mean this wine will keep on evolving in the glass and in the bottle.

  6. 2011 Beaune 1er Cru Les Chouacheux, Domaine Chantal Lescure

    Light and bright with medium weight, ripe tannins and ripe red berry fruit, spice and pepper.

  7. 2013 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Domaine Régis Rossignol Changarnier

    Beautifully bright, light, ruby Pinot colour. Wild strawberries on the nose with amazing purity, 12.5% alcohol, and lightness of touch which really speak of a cool climate. Looking for Burgundian elegance? – this is it. However, this wine is no shrinking violet and has fine tannins and high acidity. Some will find this austere on its own, but it really refreshes the palate if drunk with food.

  8. 2013 Morellino di Scansano, Fattoria dei Barbi

    Has a brilliant and intense ruby red appearance and an ample, persistent bouquet with plum and red berry tones. The palate is full and generous, with velvety tannins and a long finish.

  9. 2013 St. Joseph Les Pierres Sèches, Domaine Cuilleron

    Ruby red in colour with an elegant perfumed fruity nose of raspberry, blueberry, violet and pepper. Fruity, juicy and on the lean side, but firm on the finish.

  10. 2009 Merlot di Vistorta, Vistorta

    Soft plummy fruit with a slightly herbaceous character, backed by ripe but well structured tannin.
