  1. 2012 Sincronia Negre (Mantenegro, Callet, Syrah), Mesquida Mora

    The nose is lead by forest fruits with earthy notes and subtle touch of toast and spice. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of up-front fresh fruit – redcurrant, blackberry and raspberry.

  2. 2013 Alma de Tinto  Mencia, Pazo das Tapias

    Mencia is native to this rather rugged part of the world and the wines often have a certain rusticity about them. The Alma de Tinto is bright and brambly with bags of fresh fruit alongside hints of developed, dried fruit nuances.

    Extremely complex with nuances of mature fruit, minerality, herbaceous spice, with fine tannins and an elegant, long, lively finish.

    A black-cherry coloured wine with slight violet hues. High aromatic intensity, with aromas of ripe dark fruit, fine smoked notes with toasted aromas coming through. On the palate it is meaty and crisp, with a presence of well-polished tannins. Moderate acidity, with a long, pleasant finish in which the oak can be detected more distinctly.

  5. 2009 El Picon, Pago de los Capellanes

    A deep, dark cherry-coloured with extraordinary intensity and complexity. Blackberries and floral notes are detected first on the nose. The fruit is well-integrated with the wood, displaying spicy aromas from the French oak; cinnamon, leather, tobacco, truffle and black liquorice. Sweet, smooth tannins coat the palate and the mouth is full-bodied and persistant with an array of complex flavours.

    Ripe, fruity aromas precede spicy, warm summer fruits of redcurrant and blackberry. Well weighted with good length on the finish.

    Smack-in-the face fresh juicy red fruit sings from the glass. The palate is lively with red cherry and raspberry notes and hints of balsamic.

    El Brindis is packed with red and black fruit, displaying herbal scents of thyme and eucalyptus and some toasty spice. There’s a certain Mediterranean generosity and concentration of fruit combined with elegant restraint of this great high altitude terroir.
