    A complex, structured nose with layer upon layer of dried red berry fruit which is met with a soft vanilla spice and toasty oak. The palate is elegant and soft with impressive length.

  2. 2010 Reserva, Pago de los Capellanes

    The nose has a fine complexity with tones of ripened fruit such as cherry, cassis and plum all harmonised by the wood and spice character (vanilla and cocoa) with undercurrents of liquorice. The palate displays great balance with glossy, mature tannins and elegant fruit character that echoes the nose. The finish is long and elegant.

  3. 2013 Tempranillo, Campo Nuevo

    Aromas of red fruits and raspberries with a hint of truffles lead to a full bodied palate showing well balanced acidity, good structure and a long finish.

  4. 2013 Joven, Pago de los Capellanes

    The wine is a bright, cherry red with intense floral and red forest fruit aromas on the nose with subtle hints of vanilla from the brief exposure to oak. The palate has a full and velvety texture with plenty of elegant red forest fruit and very good length.

    A serious, multi-faceted wine with a long life ahead. Floral aromas and fresh black fruit fills the nose followed by a complex palate of vanilla, cocoa, toasted coffee and new leather displaying a fine balance of oak and fruit. Superb length with lasting notes of spice, tobacco, sandalwood and liquorice.

  6. 2009 Rioja Reserva, Marqués de Riscal

    A dark cherry colour with good depth. Balsamic aromas with hints of ripe fruit, complex and spicy. The attack is fresh and light, with soft, rounded tannins. The finish proves persistent with some reminders of toasted oak. Its passage through the mouth is pleasant and elegant, fresh and easy to drink.

  7. 2010 Crianza, Pago de los Capellanes

    The nose is intense with a pleasant balance of wood and fruit which notes of vanilla, ripened cherries and plums. Secondary aromas of leather and liquorice are also present. The texture in the mouth is smooth with balanced flavours echoing the nose. The tannins are fine and the finish is long and elegant. This wine will keep for some time.

  8. 2009 Rioja Reserva, Marqués de Riscal

    Attractive aromas of cherries and cinnamon are carried through from the nose to the palate. A backbone of refreshing acidity and firm tannin combine with the fruit to produce a wine of sublime balance.

  9. 2006 El Picon, Pago de los Capellanes

    A deep, dark cherry-coloured with extraordinary intensity and complexity. Blackberries and floral notes are detected first on the nose. The fruit is well-integrated with the wood, displaying spicy aromas from the French oak; cinnamon, leather, tobacco, truffle and black liquorice. Sweet, smooth tannins coat the palate and the mouth is full-bodied and persistant with an array of complex flavours.

  10. 2006 Baron de Chirel Reserva, Marqués de Riscal

    A very intense, black-cherry colour with hardly any signs of evolution. The initial impact on the nose is balsamic and highly complex, opening up to reveal hints of leather, roasted coffee and liqueur nuances. In the mouth it proves warm and smooth, with a very long finish full of sweet sensations thanks to the excellent ripeness of the tannins.
