  1. 2009 El Nogal, Pago de los Capellanes

    A serious, multi-faceted wine with a long life ahead. Floral aromas and fresh black fruit fills the nose followed by a complex palate of vanilla, cocoa, toasted coffee and new leather displaying a fine balance of oak and fruit. Superb length with lasting notes of spice, tobacco, sandalwood and liquorice.

  2. 2009 Rioja Reserva, Marqués de Riscal

    A dark cherry colour with good depth. Balsamic aromas with hints of ripe fruit, complex and spicy. The attack is fresh and light, with soft, rounded tannins. The finish proves persistent with some reminders of toasted oak. Its passage through the mouth is pleasant and elegant, fresh and easy to drink.

  3. 2010 Crianza, Pago de los Capellanes

    The nose is intense with a pleasant balance of wood and fruit which notes of vanilla, ripened cherries and plums. Secondary aromas of leather and liquorice are also present. The texture in the mouth is smooth with balanced flavours echoing the nose. The tannins are fine and the finish is long and elegant. This wine will keep for some time.

  4. 2013 Javier San Pedro Rioja Tempranillo, Bodegas Vallobera

    Pale purple colour with sweet jam aromas. Soft and smooth on the palate with a long and clean finish.

  5. 2011 Rioja Crianza, Vina Cerrada

    A very intense ruby red colour with a bouquet of ripe black fruit (blackberry and plum) fused with toast, cinnamon, caramel and butter aromas. A very well structured palate with a velvety mouth-feel and a balanced expression of fruit and oak flavours. Supple tannins with a long finish.

  6. 2006 El Picon, Pago de los Capellanes

    A deep, dark cherry-coloured with extraordinary intensity and complexity. Blackberries and floral notes are detected first on the nose. The fruit is well-integrated with the wood, displaying spicy aromas from the French oak; cinnamon, leather, tobacco, truffle and black liquorice. Sweet, smooth tannins coat the palate and the mouth is full-bodied and persistant with an array of complex flavours.

  7. 2006 Baron de Chirel Reserva, Marqués de Riscal

    A very intense, black-cherry colour with hardly any signs of evolution. The initial impact on the nose is balsamic and highly complex, opening up to reveal hints of leather, roasted coffee and liqueur nuances. In the mouth it proves warm and smooth, with a very long finish full of sweet sensations thanks to the excellent ripeness of the tannins.

  8. 2011 Maudes Crianza (Tempranillo, Merlot), Lezcano Lacalle

    The wine is a deep cherry colour with prominent legs. The nose bursts full of black fruit, currants and blackberries with a spicy toasty edge. The palate is round and long with firm, silky tannins.

  9. 2009 The Sticks and Stones Tempranillo Blend, d'Arenberg

    To taste this exotic mix of Iberian varieties is to embark upon a tantalizing journey of the senses. The nose exhibits an enticing mix of red, black and purple fruits such as plum, blackcurrant and dark cherry truffle. There is another layer of secondary aromas though, that makes this a seriously complex wine, mushrooms, autumn leaves and earth.
    A similar theme is found on the palate with flavours of red licorice, spice and peat all evident. The hallmark of this vintage though is a rhubarb, ironstone-like note that adds an incredible core of mineral tannins and bright acidity. The wine is both lively and complex at the same time.

  10. 2013 Joven, Pago de los Capellanes

    The wine is a bright, cherry red with intense floral and red forest fruit aromas on the nose with subtle hints of vanilla from the brief exposure to oak. The palate has a full and velvety texture with plenty of elegant red forest fruit and very good length.
