  1. 2011 Kalkmergel Spätburgunder, Weingut Knipser

Quintessentially Pinot Noir nose, with aromatic crushed strawberries and a toasty note. Think Otago. Then the palate is more restrained with dry character, chalky acidity and a Burgundian silkiness to the tannins. Long finish, very balanced and elegant.

  2. 2013 Gamay de Touraine, Domaine de Pierre

Dry, but fruit-forward with supple tannins, red cherries, medium body and bright acidity.

  3. 2011 Volnay 1er Cru le Clos de Chênes, Domaine Henri Delagrange

Ruby coloured with a incredible depth of aroma and flavour. Violets and red fruits are extremely expressive, but also powerful, long-lived and elegant.

  4. 2011 Pommard les Vaumuriens Hauts, Domaine Henri Delagrange

Beautiful red-black colour. The vines are on the slopes above the premiers crus which produces complex, powerful wines with a fantastic dry, mineral quality. Aromas of blackberry, bilberry or redcurrant and cherry stone. A wild forest floor character may develop in time.

  5. 2011 Aloxe-Corton Les Caillettes, Domaine Henri Delagrange

For Pinot Noir, a quite dark, deep ruby. When young, the aromas evoke the garden in spring, red fruits (raspberry, strawberry, cherry) and black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry). These flavours become more intense with age: peony and jasmine, jam and fruit in eau de-vie, pistachio, prunes, leather, truffles, mushrooms, cinnamon. It is a generous, opulent wine with distinguished tannins.

  6. 2012 Hautes-Cotes de Beaune Rouge, Domaine Henri Delagrange

Ruby with purple rim with youthful aromas of morello cherry, raspberry, crushed strawberry and violet. Invigorating freshness and round, silky tannins.

  7. 2011 Volnay Vielles Vignes, Domaine Henri Delagrange

Ruby coloured. Enticing wild raspberry and bramble aromas. Medium bodied, with supple tannins and generous, soft fruity character.

  8. 2010 Beaune Clos des Mouches 1er Cru Rouge, Joseph Drouhin

Red fruits and undergrowth. Serious but so drinkable.

  9. 2011 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Domaine Régis Rossignol Changarnier

Beautifully bright, light, ruby Pinot colour. Wild strawberries on the nose with amazing purity, 12.5% alcohol, and lightness of touch which really speak of a cool climate. Looking for Burgundian elegance? – this is it. However, this wine is no shrinking violet and has fine tannins and high acidity. Some will find this austere on its own, but it really refreshes the palate if drunk with food.

  10. 2013 Rama Tempranillo Tinto, Bodegas Covinas

A mixture of red and black fruits such as cranberries and blackberries, combined with sweet toasty flavours.
