Deep, brooding, inky purple in colour with a developed, aromatic nose dominated by ripe black fruits and smoky oak. The palate is full bodied and concentrated, dripping with spicy blackberry fruit and a fair wedge of toasty vanilla oak, finishing soft, supple and rounded.

  2. 2011 Crozes Hermitage Cuvée Albéric Bouvet, Domaine Gilles Robin

Vibrant aromas of plum with great texture and balance between front-mid-end palate. Fresh but rich with great sustain of flavour on the finish.

  3. 2009 Syrah, Maroccoli Planeta

Ruby red to deep purple tones. Intense and persistent on the nose with notes of black fruits like cherry and blackberry; chocolate, leather and spices integrated with creamy vanilla and nut coming from the wood. Black pepper and Parma violets on a medium-weight body with vibrant acidity and light tannins. Classic Northern Rhone.

  7. 2011 Terre de Granit, Saint Joseph, Domaine Guy Farge

Dark ruby with minerally aromatics: stone, chalk and gun flint in a subtle interplay with pepper, tapenade and dense brambly fruit. Lovely mouthwatering acidity, smooth layers of fine tannins, medium body and long finish.

  8. 2010 Ninquén Estate, Ninquén

A deep ruby red colour, with aromas of black cherries and ripe black berries surrounded by elegant and integrated toasty oak. Deep, complex and rich flavours, with layers of black cherries and ripe currants, and firm tannins which give this wine structure, muscles and a long finish.

  9. 2012 St. Joseph Les Pierres Sèches, Domaine Cuilleron

Ruby red in colour with an elegant perfumed fruity nose of raspberry, blueberry, violet and pepper. Fruity, juicy and on the lean side, but firm on the finish.

  10. 2011 Côte Rôtie, La Madinière, Domaine Yves Cuilleron

Intensely purple/black in colour, almost opaque. The nose is a concentrated wall of spices, mineral tones and dark berry fruits. Deeply concentrated, tight and seriously well structured, the palate is immense in its breadth and length showing a wealth of blackberry, fruits of the forest and spiced, wooded flavours. The firm finish means you won't forget this one easily.
