Savoury but with intense fruit that opens up with aeration. Slight element of mineral/gritty character displayed by the village level Volnay. Greater intensity of fruit, which persists excellently on the palate, and balanced, fine-grained tannin. Smokey/savoury character on finish. Superb.

Ruby-red colour, with garnet reflections and an intense, full, ethereal and very persistent bouquet. The palate is harmonic, with hints of wild cherry and fruits of the forest.

Intense, almost opaque ruby core with a purple rim on first release, this powerful young wine shows a highly fruity nose of ripe blackberries, ripe plums and strawberries. The mineral notes of the terroir, and a hint of fresh greenness work wonderfully as a foil to the exuberant fruit. On the palate there is a medium to full bodied mouthfeel with powerful structure given by warm, ripe tannins.
