  1. 2009 The Cenosilicaphobic Cat Sagrantino Cinsault, d'Arenberg

    The nose has a dominant dried herb character and savoury nuances of saltbush, red currant leaf and a hint of black tea.
    Dried herbs also run through the palate from the attack right through to the fruit tannins on the finish. There is wonderful depth with red cherries and layers of rich coffee, dark chocolate and nicely integrated oak. The Cinsault component is harmonious and provides lift, softness, fine minerality and bright acidity. The chalky fruit tannins are prominent and vibrant as typical for Sagrantino.

  2. 2011 Miamup Cab Sauvignon, Howard Park

    Deep ruby red in colour with aromas of youthful and classic cabernet aromas of sweet mint, poached red fruits, savoury herbs and a touch of mocha and toasted oak.

  3. 2012 Basket Pressed Cabernets, Skillogalee

    This Cabernet blend is another dark, rich wine in the Skillogalee tradition, with intense colour and powerful, warm aromas and flavours. The wine is full and soft with sweet, leafy fruit flavours, rich vanillin oak and firm drying tannins on a lingering finish.

  4. 2012 Are You Game? Shiraz, Fowles Wine

    This Shiraz is deep cherry red. On the nose black pepper, plum and cinnamon play with nutmeg and subtle oak notes. The Palate is full of ripe fruits and a medley of complex spices integrated oak that leads to a velvety long finish.

  5. 2012 Stickleback Red, Heartland

    Fragrant, spicy, juicy and full bodied. A rich violet / purple colour. Chocolate spice and black fruit characters of cherry and plum on the palate, with a vibrant blackcurrant lift. The Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine a rich, savoury character. Dolcetto enhances the blend, offering firm tannins to the mix. Lagrein contributes spiciness and a fresh, crisp acid profile, enhancing the wine's structure.

  6. 2010 Haven Pinot Noir, Kooyong

    Spicy, smokey, gamey aromas, leavened in the mouth with hints of anise and heather over succulent black cherry fruit. Well-structured, with richness and a warm, enveloping texture.

  7. 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, Heartland

    The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a vibrant ruby in colour. Wonderfully fragrant, with a lifted nose of black cherries, mulberries and plums, complemented by spicy oak characters of tobacco and vanilla. The palate displays plummy, blackcurrant jam notes with a hint of mocha.
    A rich, textural wine, with savoury, fine-grain tannins and fresh acidity.

  8. 2011 Leston Shiraz, Howard Park

    Vibrant dark raspberry in colour with expansive aromas of poached dark-fleshed plums, blueberry muffins, star anise, violets and mocha. The palate is reminiscent of pane forte - exotic spices and ripe plums, red fruits and chewy tannins.

  9. 2012 Massale Pinot Noir, Kooyong

    A pretty purplish crimson colour. The nose speaks of bright red fruits - raspberry and cherry, then violet florals, dried meadow herbs and hints of cherry pip, oak and botanical spices. The palate is attractively brambly with a core of red fruits, fresh acidity, fine, graphite-like tannins and a savoury edge which balances the fruit. This wine is approachable when young yet shows potential for further improvement with careful cellaring.

  10. 2011 d'Arry's Original Shiraz Grenache, d'Arenberg

    This wine displays a level of finesse and freshness that we don’t always encounter in other vintages of the same wine. In a somewhat surprising contrast to this, the wine also displays a dense and varied array of fruit characters, from bright lifted purple plums and rhubarb through to more spice and herbal notes such as sage and cardamom, into even more complex earthy flavours of beetroot and soot.
    These flavours are perfectly supported by a frame of fine, minerally tannins that add a subtle grip and enticingly long finish.
