  1. 2003 Morgenster Estate Red, Morgenster

    Colour: Saturated ruby red.
    Nose: Sexy aromas of dark berries, cassis and kirsch, hints of chocolate and mocha.
    Palate: The palate impression offers ripe fruit, bedded in finely knitted ripe tannins. All these combine to assail the palate with a level of density, structure and viscosity to offer an outstanding mouth-feel. A liquid velvet texture is transformed by a rocky, minerally element. A complete wine with a classic elegance and excellent finish.

  2. 2009 Abercrombie Cab Sauv, Howard Park

    The deep and dark ruby colour implies the intensity and richness that is abundantly delivered on bouquet and palate. Full of dense and very ripe blackberry and blackcurrant fruits with hints of sweet mint, freshly rubbed savoury herbs, earth and truffle. The fruit power and opulence of the palate is deftly cradled by well integrated ripe fruit, firm acidity and fine oak tannins. A wine of great presence that will age with grace.

  3. 2012 Brouilly, Domaine du Vissoux

    Wild cherry aroma. Dry with bright acidity, a beautiful naturalness to the fruit and some tannic grip to go with food. A serious and long-lived Beaujolais.

  4. 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin Vielles Vignes, Domaine Charlopin

    Deep ruby. Wild cherries and kirsch on the nose. Palate firm without austerity. Tannins textured and layered. Bright red cherry acidity and a hint of iodine lift the finish and lead on to the next glass.

    Well-focused, with toasty, smoky blackberry and blueberry aromas. Concentrated, fresh, fruity, succulent and spicy palate. Delicious, mouth-watering middle palate. Aftertaste showing fresh, beautifully rich, ripe, fine and digestible tannin. Incredible ageing potential but also unbelievably delicious when young.

  6. 2013 Rosso IGT Veronese, Sospiro

    Bright ruby red colour with a fruity nose redolent of cherries. On the palate this young wine shows fresh red fruits and medium body and structure.

  7. 2011 Moulin-à-Vent Grande Cuvée, Domaine Labruyère

    Very deep ruby for Gamay. Black cherries, licquorice and spices on the nose. Pinot Noir structure on the palate with licquorice, blackberries, cocoa, very fine tannins and a "croquant" vein of acidity keeping the wine super fresh.

  8. 2013 Gamay de Touraine, Domaine de Pierre

    Dry, but fruit-forward with supple tannins, red cherries, medium body and bright acidity.

  9. 2011 Volnay 1er Cru le Clos de Chênes, Domaine Henri Delagrange

    Ruby coloured with a incredible depth of aroma and flavour. Violets and red fruits are extremely expressive, but also powerful, long-lived and elegant.

  10. 2011 Pommard les Vaumuriens Hauts, Domaine Henri Delagrange

    Beautiful red-black colour. The vines are on the slopes above the premiers crus which produces complex, powerful wines with a fantastic dry, mineral quality. Aromas of blackberry, bilberry or redcurrant and cherry stone. A wild forest floor character may develop in time.
