  1. 2012 Gigondas les Hauts de Montmirail, Domaine Brusset

Deep crimson in colour, with a rich, spicy, smoky aroma, showing hints of chocolate and blackberry and a rounded, powerful palate with mouthfilling fruit.

  2. 2011 Gigondas Tradition Le Grand Montmirail, Domaine Brusset

Medium ruby. Aromas of black cherry, currant and liquorice. Lush but bright in the mouth, with noteworthy depth of flavour and restrained sweetness. Finishes with ripe, dusty tannins and excellent persistence.

  3. 2011 Mas Fenouillet Rouge, Faugeres

Dark ruby with red fruits, spice and a hint of Mediterranean "garrigue" herbiness. Well structured and elegant palate with melting tannins and a long, spicy finish.

  4. 2012 Gigondas Tradition Le Grand Montmirail, Domaine Brusset

Medium ruby. Aromas of black cherry, currant and liquorice. Lush but bright in the mouth, with noteworthy depth of flavour and restrained sweetness. Finishes with ripe, dusty tannins and excellent persistence.

  5. 2013 Jacques Veritier Rouge, Vin de France

Deep garnet in colour with a spicy nose. The palate is rich with ripe fruit character and a hint of peppery spice. The finish is well balanced and the tannins are soft and elegant.

  6. 2011 Faugeres, Domaine des Prés Lasses

Subtly spicy, with ripe red fruit aromas and flavours. Beautifully soft and generous texture with silky-fine tannins and characteristic Southern French 'garrigue' flavours - thyme, rosemary, marjoram and other wild herbs.

  7. 2013 Domaine de Monastir IGP Côtes Catalanes, Vignerons Terres Romanes

Herby with redcurrants and pomegranite. The ripe southern fruitiness is kept savoury by the flavours of the mountainside. Soft tannins, medium body and mellow acidity.

  8. 2008 The Ironstone Pressings GSM, d'Arenberg

On the nose we are struck by the typical dark fruits. Plums, mulberries, fresh soil and more developed peaty like notes are all apparent, with an underlying lick of exotic Indian spice.
An abundance of fresh fruits on the palate marry well with the more complex characters of quince paste, cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise and earthy beetroot. Driving the core of the wine is that vintage trademark in the form of graphite and wet stone. This wine, while appearing open and generous already, will continue to age well thanks to the lively line of acidity and the abundance of fine gritty tannins.

  9. 2011 Châteauneuf Reserve des Oliviers, Maison Favier

The grenache character predominates on the nose with plenty of raspberry fruit. A succulent attack is balanced by fine tannins and good acidity. The finish is marked by spice and blackcurrant.

  10. 2012 Johann's Garden GMS, Henschke

Bright crimson in colour. Sweet ripe lifted spicy aromas of cherry plum, raspberry, rhubarb and anise. Hints of spicy nutmeg, clove and mace with smoky cedar nuances. The palate is rich and full with supple layered fleshy texture and ripe sweet plum/prune flavours; concentrated and complex with layers of velvety tannins, good balance, weight and length.
