  1. 2011 Organic Cabernet Sauvignon, Soleus

    Deep brooding purple in colour with a vibrant nose of blackcurrant fruit, hints of liquorice and a touch of oak. The palate is full bodied but soft and juicy, packed with brambly briar fruit flavours, hints of spice and the oak makes a luxurious return on the finish.

In this cold, late-ripening vintage, the south exposition and richness typical of this site give the Mosconi a level of mid-palate pliancy and richness the other 2010 Barolos don't have.     This moderately ruby/purple-hued wine exhibits complex aromas of liquorice, roasted herbs, sweet cassis and cherries, smoked meat, and spices. A light style of Garnacha offering an elegant, surprisingly silky and vibrant wine.

    The nose is lead by forest fruits with earthy notes and subtle touch of toast and spice. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of up-front fresh fruit – redcurrant, blackberry and raspberry.

    Ruby red, intense when young, tending to slight garnet. The bouquet is intense yet delicate. The palate is dry, full-bodied and typically bitterish. As it ages it will become more refined assuming a full and harmonious flavour. A very tasty cherry-and-beef flavor on a sweet mid-palate followed by a tart, moderately tannic finish.

    Traditional in it's generous texture, firm tannins and fleshy raspberry fruit.

  10. 2011 Crozes Hermitage Clos des Grives, Domaine Combier

    Clos de Grives is wonderfully vibrant in colour with a rich complex nose of chocolate and mocha underlaid by intense fruit character and a hint of tobacco. The tannins and the oak are wonderfully well integrated and the finish is a joy, a rare mixture of complexity, concentration and elegance.
