  1. 2012 Basket Pressed Shiraz, Skillogalee

    This Shiraz is another dark, rich wine in the Skillogalee tradition, with intense colour and powerful, warm aromas and flavours. On the nose and the palate there are berryfruit and plum characters and hints of eucalyptus or mint can sometimes be found. Tannin structure is fine but firm and there is a good level of natural acidity.

  2. 2011 Côte Rôtie, La Madinière, Domaine Yves Cuilleron

    Intensely purple/black in colour, almost opaque. The nose is a concentrated wall of spices, mineral tones and dark berry fruits. Deeply concentrated, tight and seriously well structured, the palate is immense in its breadth and length showing a wealth of blackberry, fruits of the forest and spiced, wooded flavours. The firm finish means you won't forget this one easily.

  3. 2012 Serrata di Belguardo, Maremma, Tenuta Belguardo

    Displays the classic notes of ripe red fruits associated with Maremma, and a perceptible presence of black fruits, particularly blackberries. The structure is solid with tannins which are beginning to soften and add complexity to the good length. Persistant finish.

    Soft blueberry, plum and raspberry notes with a smooth structure and gentle tannin. A round and well-balanced palate.

  5. 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Lucien Boillot

    Medium/full-bodied, exceptionally complex with aromas of bacon, black cherries, liquorice, pencil lead, raspberry jam, a smokiness and dry toast. On the palate one can find a balanced acidity, integrated oak, modest tannins and cocoa powder, coffee, mushroom, peat moss, plum flavours jam, smoky.

  6. 2013 Sincronia Negre, Mesquida Mora

    The nose is lead by forest fruits with earthy notes and subtle touch of toast and spice. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of up-front fresh fruit – redcurrant, blackberry and raspberry.

  7. 2008 Duca di Aragona, Francesco Candido

    Full, bright ruby showing lightly amber at the rim. Very intense on the nose, clear and fragrant. Enormously satisfying on the palate, combining warmth and austerity with a fine harmony of flavours ranging from roasted coffee beans, tobacco and spice and a fine, well integrated hint of new oak.

  8. 2012 Carignano del Sulcis, Grotta Rossa, Santadi

    Mature, gamey nose, almost Pinot in style but the palate is fuller and serious. Delicate violet notes on the nose followed by attractive, violet fruit. Delicately made. Toffee smells on the nose and a pleasant palate with slightly ageing fruit and interesting flavour of mushroom on the finish. Complex, deep and delicious blend of tarry blackcurrant fruit with underlying richness of dried fig.

  9. 2012 Monprà Nebbiolo/Barbera Langhe Rosso DOC, Conterno Fantino

    Its deep colour is a reminder of the limited yields of the estate, while the richness of the well defined and elegant aromas tell of a perfect microclimate. All the density and extreme warmth on the palate have been perfectly assimilated by the oak and the finish is almost glossy and endless.
