  7. 2012 Petite Sirah, Bogle Vineyards

Full-bodied on the entry, aromas of black plum jam and toasty oak set the stage for what is to come. Vibrant boysenberries and luscious fruit are framed by serious tannins, while wisps of leather and vanilla seduce just enough. A final touch of acidity finishes the wine with a precisely balanced mouthfeel.

  8. 2013 Plansel Tinto Selecta, Quinta da Plansel

Dark ruby color with violet tones aromatic notes evidencing his youth, highlighting a sleek and light complex notes of plum and berries. Soft in the mouth, slightly acidic to reawaken the fruit notes. Smooth and elegant astringency in a structured and balanced wine that finishes smoothly.

  9. 2013 Bonizio Toscano Rosso IGT, Cecchi

Bonizio Toscana Rosso is a skilful blend of smooth, fruity Merlot from Tuscany’s coastal Maremma zone and ripe, savoury Sangiovese from the hills of Chianti Classico. The wine is ruby red with hints of purple, offering flavours of raspberry and blackberry on the rich spicy palate. This fruit-forward style is a fresh take on Tuscan red wine, delivering uncomplicated drinking enjoyment from one of the region’s most experienced producers.

  10. 2009 Morgenster Estate Red, Morgenster

Dark plum, concentrated centre and opaque to the edges. Enticing with almonds, coffee and sweet caramel, and alluring sniffs of cassis and vanilla pods. Great freshness with hits of blackberry sweetness. Elegant entry, very plush and immediately filling. Sweeter dark berry fruit very evident, which contributes well to balancing the minerality which adds a lot of weight.
