  1. 2004 Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers, Dom. Fernand Lecheneaut

    Wonderfully ripe and packed with generous aromas of redcurrants, spicy blackberries and touches of flinty mineral notes. The palate is intense and concentrated but showing a beguiling balance between structure, fruit and new oak. Firm, lengthy finish, superb for food pairing.

  2. 2006 Rioja Reserva, Marqués de Riscal

    A dark cherry colour with good depth. Balsamic aromas with hints of ripe fruit, complex and spicy. The attack is fresh and light, with soft, rounded tannins. The finish proves persistent with some reminders of toasted oak. Its passage through the mouth is pleasant and elegant, fresh and easy to drink.

  3. 2010 Côtes du Rhône Cairanne Les Travers, Brusset

    A deep garnet colour with youthful purplish hints at the rim. It has a fresh spicy nose with aromas of Christmas cake and mulled wine. On the palate it is concentrated and very elegant with fine spicy concentrated red and black fruits, soft tannins, and real elegance on the finish.

  4. 2010 Châteauneuf du Pape Tradition, Domaine de la Janasse

    Deep red-ruby. Fruit-driven aromas of cassis, redcurrant, smoke, spice and animal fur. Soft, lush and ripe, with enticing fruit and good balance. Easy going, generous and balanced for early drinking appeal.

    Brilliant yellow-diamond in colour; aromas of rich, ripe fruit and honey; voluptuous on the palate, with a persistent mineral finish, reflecting the volcanic soils of the Soave zone.

  6. 2007 Gevrey-Chambertin, Lavaux St. Jacques 1er Cru, Domaine Dugat

    Intense and complex nose of ripe red fruits, spice and a hint of earthiness. This is the epitomy of elegance. Silky, fine tannins frame the richness of the fruit perfectly and the fresh acidity brings harmony and balance to this extraordinary wine. Very fine indeed.

  7. 2010 Barbera d'Alba DOC, Vignota, Conterno Fantino

    A wine ruby red in appearance with cherry reflections. Elegantly scented with pleasant notes of cherry and sour cherry. Very rich extractions on the palate, persistent but simultaneously soft.

  8. 2010 Chassagne Montrachet V Vignes Rouge, Domaine Bernard Moreau

    Deep, rich red colour, leading to very appealing ripe English summer red fruits nose. Palate shows substantial depth and intensity of flavour, with excellent fruit concentration, some grip and great length of flavour. Delicious now but will keep well. Tantalising.

  9. 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Lucien Boillot

    Medium/full-bodied, exceptionally complex with aromas of bacon, black cherries, liquorice, pencil lead, raspberry jam, a smokiness and dry toast. On the palate one can find a balanced acidity, integrated oak, modest tannins and cocoa powder, coffee, mushroom, peat moss, plum flavours jam, smoky.

  10. NV Lot 29 XO, Cognac Tesseron

    Described by F Paul Pacult as: "Bronze/copper/topaz color; ideal purity... nut paste/oak scent..; with further air exposure, the bouquet takes on an orangy/citrusy leaning as the smell turns fruitier the more it aerates; lovely and compelling. The palate entry is supple, fruity sweet, and ripe; the midpalate stage highlights melded flavors of light caramel, marzipan, and nougat. Ends up oaky sweet, lightly spiced, and satiny. Like this cognac very much." Or Malcolm Gluck "This liquid can represent the planet in the cognac, armagnac and malt whisky class. It has the qualities of an elixir."
