  1. 2010 The Noble Mud Pie Viognier Roussanne, d'Arenberg

    The Viognier is clearly evident on the nose with notes of apricot nectar, ginger, yellow peach blossom and dried citrus peel. Further investigation reveals some lovely florals, spice and a hint of nut characters from the Roussanne. The palate is thick, luscious and powerful. It's full-on botrytis with enormous fruit, spice and floral lift. It's surprisingly complex with dried peach, ripe grapefruit and a hint of rose water adding to the palate. This wine is spectacularly luscious and flavor packed. It will be a fun match to a range of desserts and cheeses at the end of a meal.

    Mid straw in colour. On the nose there are lively fresh lime aromas with a touch of perfumed aromatics. The palate has intense citrus fruit flavours balanced by a refreshing acidity giving a crisp, dry, lingering finish.

    This has a greater proportion of Pinot Noir than the previous vintage which has produced more red fruit characters of cherry and hints of strawberry. Subtle use of oak produces light cedar aromas.

    Cooler years in McLaren Vale always lead to incredibly expressive and highly varietal Cabernets.
    The High Trellis is no exception with an abundance of blackcurrant, violets and minty notes leaping from the glass.
    Beautiful bright purple fruits dominate the palate, countered by typical Cabernet characters such as red capsicum skin and fresh mint.
    The wine feels quite linear at this stage of its development and the combination of fruit and fine chalky tannins seems to go on and on endlessly.
    A wine that can be savoured now or allowed to develop for the next five to 10 years.

  7. 2012 The Money Spider Roussanne, d'Arenberg

    The nose exhibits a whole array of characters from stone fruits and tropical notes through to nuttiness and an ever so delicate hint of Indian spice.
    The palate is robust! A luscious mix of pulpy fruit, green mango and papaya. These full flavours gently give way to honey blossom nuances and savoury pistachio notes which linger to a very long finish, adding refinement to the palate.

    Tropical fruits along with the cool climate attributes of Central Otago combine to make a truly amazing Chardonnay that could rival anything else in the world. It is a flinty elegant wine with good structure and balance. Barrel fermented in French oak.

    Bright red in colour with an intense bouquet reminiscent of violets and strawberry, it is smooth and mellow on the palate.

  10. 2013 Yealands Pinot Noir Winemaker Reserve Gibbstone Valley, C. Otago

    Aromas of dark cherry, plum, and spice are complemented by great mid palate texture, silky tannis and bright acid core.
