    The Sangiovese in this vintage was generous and of outstanding quality, first as grapes and then as juice, bestowing its Chianti-zone violet and earthy aromas, while at the same time displaying the highest elegance and persistence. This was complemented by the lush fruit of the Merlot, the smoke of the Petit Verdot, and the vibrancy of the Cabernet Sauvignon. There is beautiful choreography in the balance between the velvety tannins and alcohol in this new vintage.

    A near-opaque, dense ruby red. An emphatic, incisive nose immediately conveys the wine's distinctive personality. Notes of red fruit (plum and cherry) and black (cassis) predominate, lifted by a smooth impression of spice and crisp hint of black liquorice. On the palate, its lively acidity offers perfect support to a superb structure. A delicious finish offers an intriguing hint of cherry stones.

  6. 2013 Rosso IGT Veronese, Sospiro

    Bright ruby red colour with a fruity nose redolent of cherries. On the palate this young wine shows fresh red fruits and medium body and structure.

  7. 2009 Brunello di Montalcino, Il Poggione

    A ruby red wine with garnet hues and a very intense, lingering and stylish bouquet with small dark berry fruit notes. The palate is dry, warm, quite smooth and tannic and the after-aroma is long-lasting.

  8. 2011 Poggio alla Badiola, Toscana, Castello di Fonterutoli

    This wine is made from Sangiovese grapes, by one of Tuscany's best producers. Delicious, plummy, damson fruit flavours with smooth, integrated tannins.

  9. 2011 Monprà Nebbiolo/Barbera Langhe Rosso DOC, Conterno Fantino

    Its deep colour is a reminder of the limited yields of the estate, while the richness of the well defined and elegant aromas tell of a perfect microclimate. All the density and extreme warmth on the palate have been perfectly assimilated by the oak and the finish is almost glossy and endless.

  10. NV Sprizzato Italian Aperitif

    Delightfully fresh aromas, with a floral sweet orange profile underpinned by the tartness of grapefruit rhubarb and a savoury herbal background reminiscent of sage.
