    Deep ruby red in colour with a youthful bright rim. The nose is aromatic and fruit driven, displaying ripe plum and red-berry fruit with an undertone of forest floor. The palate is medium bodied, finely structured and fruit driven, with blackberry and morello cherry flavours, wood spice and a hint of vanilla on the complex, lengthy finish.

    Merlot dominated, soft, yet structured claret from the 'right banks'. The wine has ripe tannins and excellent fruit concentration, yet elegant.

  3. 2008 Morgenster Estate Red, Morgenster

    Dark plum, concentrated centre and opaque to the edges. Enticing with almonds, coffee and sweet caramel, and alluring sniffs of cassis and vanilla pods. Great freshness with hits of blackberry sweetness. Elegant entry, very plush and immediately filling. Sweeter dark berry fruit very evident, which contributes well to balancing the minerality which adds a lot of weight.

    With enormous depth of colour, this wine is almost black in hue and is bursting with pure and concentrated blackcurrant aromas. The palate is full bodied and chunky with a well delineated structure of integrated, fine grained tannin and ripe toasty oak encasing the fruit flavours right through to the rounded, lengthy finish.

    A rounded , soft wine with a fruity bouquet, reminiscent of wild fruit and cherry. There is a hint of wood and vanilla through the palate with a balance and lingering finish.

    Mellow nose, with aromas of dense, fleshy fruit. Tasty and rich, with surprising concentration, good purity and depth, low acidity and plump fleshy fruit. Solid mouthfeel and excellent length.

    Deep ruby in the glass with concentrated black fruit and oak aromas. On the palate, the wine is powerful, with classy wood treatment and a wonderfully rich, sensuous structure and a long finish. Watchwords are accessibility, concentration and supple balance.

    Aromas of redcurrants, toast and vanilla, followed up with fresh, medium-weight palate and food-friendly tannins. Modern clean style.

    Honest and fresh style, this is a juicy and red fruit Merlot. Sweet aromas of plums, cherries and spices. Dark chocolate and tobacco notes add complexity in the nose. Well structured in the mouth, wide and dense, with ripe tannins, bright acidity and a pleasant finish.
