  1. 2008 Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru, Domaine Harmand Geoffroy

    Concentrated nose of red and black fruit - fully ripe but without over ripeness, and with classic Burgundian herbal/gamey undertones. In the mouth, rich and concentrated, juicy and immediately very delicious. Tannin is present although velvety and in check, and there is enough acidity to provide freshness and balance.

    Spicy, smokey, gamey aromas, leavened in the mouth with hints of anise and heather over succulent black cherry fruit. Well-structured, with richness and a warm, enveloping texture.

  3. 2008 Volnay, Domaine Régis Rossignol Changarnier

    The nose is a fantastic combination of cherry and rosehip fruit with delicious gamey/spicy/nutty complexity. In the mouth it is medium-bodied and elegant with bright acidity, fine tannin and a complex finish. As befits its septuagenarian winemaker, this is a wonderful traditional Volnay.

    Rich and concentrated wine with intense aromas black fruit and violets. powerful wine with silky tannins.

  5. 2011 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles, Alain Michelot

    Beautiful dark red colour; aromas of blackcurrants; small black fresh fruits and spice on the palate with an elegant and rounded mouthfeel and a long, balanced finish.

  6. 2008 Pommard Les Perrières, Domaine Jean-Michel Gaunoux

    Vibrantly bright, with a touch of mahogany toward the rim. The nose is generous in its complexity with fine and elegant red berry fruits and hints of earthy spices. The palate is medium bodied, soft, juicy and lengthy showing piercing strawberry and cherry fruits layered over a carpet of mushrooms, strawberry leaf and forest floor complexity. The finish is firm, clean and lengthy.

    Medium intensity in colour with a bouquet of damask rose, cherry, earth and spice. Vibrant and succulent cherry fruit and underlying mushroom and earthy nuances fill the palate. The palate texture is slippery and silky with a fine thread of acidity and soft mouth filling tannins.

  8. 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Lucien Boillot

    Medium/full-bodied, exceptionally complex with aromas of bacon, black cherries, liquorice, pencil lead, raspberry jam, a smokiness and dry toast. On the palate one can find a balanced acidity, integrated oak, modest tannins and cocoa powder, coffee, mushroom, peat moss, plum flavours jam, smoky.

  9. 2010 Beaune Clos des Mouches 1er Cru Rouge, Joseph Drouhin

    Red fruits and undergrowth. Serious but so drinkable.

  10. 2013 Volnay Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Henri Delagrange

    Ruby coloured. Enticing wild raspberry and bramble aromas. Medium bodied, with supple tannins and generous, soft fruity character.
