  1. 2012 Muscadet de Sevre et Maine sur lie V V, Château du Poyet

Pale yellow in colour with a touch of complexity on the nose brought about by ageing on the lees. The palate is well balanced with surprisingly good weight and concentration followed by a clean, crisp finish.

  2. 2006 Riesling Cuvée Frédéric Emile, Trimbach

Very attractive already, quite powerful nose. Full bodied wine with intensity, depth and beautiful mineral flavour. Rich, ripe acidity in the palate. Great personality and finesse. Full of charm already after nearly 4 years of bottle ageing.

  3. 2008 Bourgogne Rouge, Domaine Dugat

The nose shows lovely ripe cherries with some nice herbiness. Richly fruited palate, soft and full, with firm tannins, appropriate acidity, spicy elements and great balance. An attractive wine all round.

  4. 2010 Chorey-Les-Beaune, Domaine Maillard Père et Fils

Aromas of morello cherry and raspberry with complex earthy elements, mouthfilling on the palate with a good concentration of red berry fruits, a lick of smooth woody vanilla and a lovely supple, textured middle supported by very fine tannins. Elegant and complex despite its concentration with a well balanced and defined finish.

  5. NV Brut, Laurent Perrier
    champagne

    NV Brut, Laurent Perrier

    (12x37.5cl)

A strong vivid colour and delicate yet complex nose , indicating a relatively high proportion of black grapes. A mature style of non-vintage champagne with hints of citrus fruit, and a good balanced palate.

  6. 2008 Rully Blanc Cuvée St Jacques, Albert Sounit

Has an upfront nose reminiscent of grapefruits with some hints of floral and mineral elements. The palate is medium bodied and dry, expressing its terroir well as it offers sub tropical and citrus fruits bound up with a green appley, mineral acidity. The finish is clean, lively and stylish.

  7. 2007 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru, La Gibryotte, Famille Dugat

A blend of red and black fruit aromas over some softer raspberry fruit with really nice freshness, silky tannins and high acidity. Very complex with a mineral tang and some spicier, liquorice notes.

  8. 2007 Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Dugat

An aromatic nose of ripe red and black cherries with a touch of underbrush. Very pure with a silky texture and lovely intensity of fruit. Seamless through to the finish.

  9. NV Taittinger, Prélude Grand Cru

Pale, brilliant yellow in colour with silvery highlights, the bubbles are fine and form a lasting and delicately creamy ring of mousse. The nose is subtle and fresh, the initial mineral aromas quickly develop into green, floral scents with hints of elderflower and spicy cinnamon overtones. On the palate, its flavours are dominated by intensive fresh citrus fruit. These then give way to a much fuller, well-bodied and mellow taste with flavours reminiscent of white peaches in syrup. The finish is long, rich and extremely expressive.

  10. 2010 Pouilly Fumé Triptyque, Alain Cailbourdin

Light, elegant soft fruit nose. Fine citrus and herbaceous notes. Pure acidity holds the wine together very well and the finish is precise and long. An incredible clean, fresh and impressively well balanced Pouilly Fume.
