  1. 2010 Johann's Garden GMS, Henschke

Bright crimson in colour. Sweet ripe lifted spicy aromas of cherry plum, raspberry, rhubarb and anise. Hints of spicy nutmeg, clove and mace with smoky cedar nuances. The palate is rich and full with supple layered fleshy texture and ripe sweet plum/prune flavours; concentrated and complex with layers of velvety tannins, good balance, weight and length.

  2. 2010 Grenache, Montagne Noire, Vin de Pays d'Oc, Foncalieu

Soft blueberry, plum and raspberry notes with a smooth structure and gentle tannin. A round and well-balanced palate.

  3. 2010 Gigondas les Hauts de Montmirail, Domaine Brusset

Deep crimson in colour, with a rich, spicy, smoky aroma, showing hints of chocolate and blackberry and a rounded, powerful palate with mouthfilling fruit.

  4. 2008 Châteauneuf du Pape, Vieilles Vignes, Domaine de la Janasse

Full bodied and deep with flavours of smoke, kirsch and cherry like fruit. Well developed with well rounded, ripe tannins and a rich, powerful, velvety finish.

  5. 2010 Châteauneuf du Pape Tradition, Domaine de la Janasse

Deep red-ruby. Fruit-driven aromas of cassis, redcurrant, smoke, spice and animal fur. Soft, lush and ripe, with enticing fruit and good balance. Easy going, generous and balanced for early drinking appeal.

  6. 2010 Côtes du Rhône, Domaine de la Mirandole

Light, ruby red with a perfumed, fruity nose of violet and raspberry. The palate is balanced by juicy damson and raspberry fruit, smooth tannins, good acidity and a spicy finish. Beautifully structured.

  7. 2009 Châteauneuf du Pape Rouge l'Accent de la Roquète, Dom Roquète

Bright red. Dark berries and cherry on the nose, with complex garrigue, licquorice and olive nuances. Fleshy, pure red and dark berry flavours are complimented by layers of mouthfilling, ripe tannins. Gorgeous sweet fruit on the finish. Overall, a very balanced and elegant prestige blend, without overextraction or excessive alcohol levels.

  8. 2009 The Gypsy, Shiraz Grenache, Ken Forrester Wines

The character is somewhat wild, a little brambly with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, dark spices, with vanilla scents and a distinct, concentrated red-fruit focus. Great for laying down and keeping for at least ten years but already rewarding if allowed to breathe in a decanter.

  9. 2012 Les Granges de Félines Grenache Merlot, Domaine de Belle Mare

A blend of Merlot, Grenache and Syrah, this is fresh and fruity with red berry and cherry character and a clean, fruity finish. If you're after an easy quaffing, well made, fruity red this is the one.

  10. 2010 Faugeres, Domaine des Prés Lasses

Subtly spicy, with ripe red fruit aromas and flavours. Beautifully soft and generous texture with silky-fine tannins and characteristic Southern French 'garrigue' flavours - thyme, rosemary, marjoram and other wild herbs.
