  1. 2005 Shiraz, Tappa Pass, Henschke

Very deep crimson in colour. The nose is concentrated and complex, with sweet lifted ripe aromas of spicy blackberries, blueberries and prunes, with hints of chocolate, anise and tar. The palate is sweet, ripe and lush, concentrated and complex, with intense blackberry fruits, plum, anise, cedar and tar. The texture is fleshy with silky layered tannins, excellent balance and great length.

  2. 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, Stellenbosch, Thelema

This wine has a complex nose of mint, blackcurrant and chocolate and the palate is juicy and ripe. There is a good layer of toasty oak in the background to complement the black cherry and cassis fruit flavours and grippy mid-palate tannin. Very long, clean and elegant on the finish.

    2007 Coevo IGT, Cecchi

    (6x75cl)

The Sangiovese in this vintage was generous and of outstanding quality, first as grapes and then as juice, bestowing its Chianti-zone violet and earthy aromas, while at the same time displaying the highest elegance and persistence. This was complemented by the lush fruit of the Merlot, the smoke of the Petit Verdot, and the vibrancy of the Cabernet Sauvignon. There is beautiful choreography in the balance between the velvety tannins and alcohol in this new vintage.

  4. 2010 Gigondas les Hauts de Montmirail, Domaine Brusset

Deep crimson in colour, with a rich, spicy, smoky aroma, showing hints of chocolate and blackberry and a rounded, powerful palate with mouthfilling fruit.

  5. 2007 Rosso di Toscana, Siepi, Castello di Fonterutoli

A highly concentrated wine with sweet and dense tannins, it features a unique and original character that is appreciated by wine lovers throughout the world.

  6. 2010 Dolcetto Lagrein, Heartland

Deep, glass-coating ruby in colour. Blackberries and wild herbs with smoked meats and spice on the nose. In the mouth, earthy flavours and fresh acidity from the Lagrein mingle with sweet, red cherry and spice of the Dolcetto.

  7. 2009 Stickleback Red, Heartland

Fragrant, spicy, juicy and full bodied. A rich violet / purple colour. Chocolate spice and black fruit characters of cherry and plum on the palate, with a vibrant blackcurrant lift. The Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine a rich, savoury character. Dolcetto enhances the blend, offering firm tannins to the mix. Lagrein contributes spiciness and a fresh, crisp acid profile, enhancing the wine's structure.

  8. 2011 Estate Malbec, Humberto Canale Patagonia

It shows off a very refined style, both in the nose and in the mouth. Its careful oak cask ageing gives the wine an ultimate dimension that turns it into an irresistible one. A full bodied wine, with complex structure and surprising notes of red berries, eucalyptus, spice and black pepper. After a year in the bottle, it becomes more unctuous in character, intense and concentrated.

  9. 2008 Château Tayac, Cru Bourgeois, Margaux

Made in the classic 'Claret' style, medium bodied and dry, with a firm palate comprising dark forest fruits, hints of wood complexity and spices and a well integrated, finely grained tannin structure which adds breadth and length. Medium bodied and dry with a firm palate comprising dark forest fruits, hints of wood complexity and spices. A well integrated, finely grained tannin structure adds breadth and length. (MSC)

  10. 2008 Donaloba Crianza, La Casita del Viñador

An intense cherry colour with a rich complex nose of ripe raspberry, cassis, cocoa beans and licquorice all of which are translated onto the palate along with some powerful earthy flavours and toasty notes with soft, round tannins.
