  1. 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, Fattoria dei Barbi

    Brick red in colour with earthy brown edges. The nose is pronounced and complex, offering an entertaining array of red and black berry fruits, spices and oaky aromas. The palate is medium to full bodied with a richly complex middle and an everlasting, elegant finish. The tannic structure that dominated the wine in its youth is beginning to mellow and allow mature, secondary characteristics to show. A stunning wine with enormous appeal.

  2. 2009 Côte Rôtie, Les Terres Sombres, Domaine Yves Cuilleron

    Intensely purple/black in colour, almost opaque. The nose is a concentrated wall of spices, mineral tones and dark berry fruits. Deeply concentrated, tight and seriously well structured, the palate is immense in its breadth and length showing a wealth of blackberry, fruits of the forest and spiced, wooded flavours. The firm finish means you won't forget this one easily.

    A forward, deep purple wine with a sweet blueberry, kirsch and jam scented nose, medium bodied with more rounded up-front fruit than most of the other serious wines of St. Julien.

  4. 2012 Vosne-Romanee, Domaine Gros Frere et Soeur

    Ripe fruit over spices is the main ingredient of the bouquet, modified by the presence of strawberry, raspberry, bilberry, or blackcurrant.
    These refined and well-blended aromas evolve with age into cherries-in-brandy, preserved fruits, leather and fur, and gamey/woodland scents.
    On the palate the wine is velvety and distinguished.

    Intensive ruby red colour with violet hues. Typical hints of roses and violets on the nose. On the palate the wine is complex with a firm structure, round and fruity. The finish is dry and long.

    Ruby-red core, with garnet hues and an intense, full, ethereal and very persistent bouquet. The palate is harmonious, with hints of wild cherry and fruits of the forest.

  7. 2011 Mas de Lunes Rouge, Ctx du Languedoc

    Bright ruby with complex hints of red berries, spice, coconut and vanilla. Well-integrated tannins with sun-drenched fruit and echoes of the "garrigue".

  8. 2010 Abercrombie Cab Sauv, Howard Park

    The deep and dark ruby colour implies the intensity and richness that is abundantly delivered on bouquet and palate. Full of dense and very ripe blackberry and blackcurrant fruits with hints of sweet mint, freshly rubbed savoury herbs, earth and truffle. The fruit power and opulence of the palate is deftly cradled by well integrated ripe fruit, firm acidity and fine oak tannins. A wine of great presence that will age with grace.

    This wine is made from Sangiovese grapes, by one of Tuscany's best producers. Delicious, plummy, damson fruit flavours with smooth, integrated tannins.
