  1. Nostalgia Rare NV d'Arenberg 6/37.5

In the glass it’s a burnished bronze with an alluring rim of olive – illustrating the great age of some of the parcels that have gone into this wine.
The nose is at first a cascade of walnuts toasted almonds and rancio (drying, mature complex oak character).
It then opens up to dried fruits, pears and apples with a sprinkling of cinnamon spice, further inspection gives up toffee, dried figs and burnt butter.
The palate is very lively, tingling with spice and lift – a fantastic balance of freshness and age, the sweetness kept in check by the rancio.
It’s complex, layered and focused with a silky mouthfeel and great lingering length.

  2. Efeso Bianco 14 Librandi 6/75

A structured wine with a smokey, woody finish.

  3. El Viento Sauvignon Blanc 14 Leyda 6/75

Spiky lemon and lime flavours complemented by the characteristic touch of gooseberry associated with the Sauvignon Blanc grape.

  4. H3 Cabernet Sauv 12 Columbia Crest 12/75

The vineyards in Horse Heaven Hills are the source and inspiration behind the H3 wines. The hills have been home to the Columbia Crest winery for three decades, and it is this heritage that has helped them to create wines that capture the unique terroir of the region. This bold Cabernet Sauvignon opens with flavours of black cherries and blackberries, and a touch of currant and vanilla is further complemented by subtle earthy, mineral notes. On the palate the deep, rich berry flavours lead to a soft tannin cocoa finish.

  5. Winemaker Coll Cab Fr 12 Crossroads 6/75

Crossroads’ Winemakers Collection includes the winery’s finest parcels of fruit, carefully prepared and selected from their own vineyards. The fruit for this single vineyard Cabernet Franc is sourced from their Mere Rd site in the centre of the renowned Gimblett Gravels sub region of Hawke’s Bay. On the nose this is classic Cabernet Franc with fragrant notes of blackcurrant leaf and blackberry supported by warm, spicy oak. The palate is full bodied and juicy, with soft, silky tannins that persist into a long elegant finish.

  6. Witches Berry Chard 13 d'Arenberg 6/75

This is a lively, balanced wine that will drink well in its youth. Peaches and cream, lemon zest and green apple are apparent on the nose with a freshness that is expected of young Chardonnay.
The restrained use of oak allows stone fruit and nutty characters to shine through on the palate, which is aided by the small portions of Viognier and Marsanne that have been blended into this wine.

  7. Sutherland Viog Rouss 12 Thelema 6/75

Sun-dried apricot, marzipan and rose petal aromas, with rosemary undertones. This wine is big with some prominent leesy, toasty notes among the fruit. The finish is clean, fresh and minerally and very long.

  8. 2014 Pinot Noir Rosé, Yealands

Light salmon in colour with pretty and delicate notes of red berries and cream. The red berries continue on the palate with great texture and finishes with mouth-watering acidity.

  9. Muscadet 14 Poyet 6/75

    Muscadet 14 Poyet 6/75

    (6x75cl)

Pale yellow in colour with a touch of complexity on the nose brought about by ageing on the lees. The palate is well balanced with surprisingly good weight and concentration followed by a clean, crisp finish.

  10. Rioja Reserva 10 Marques de Riscal 6/150

A dark cherry colour with good depth. Balsamic aromas with hints of ripe fruit, complex and spicy. The attack is fresh and light, with soft, rounded tannins. The finish proves persistent with some reminders of toasted oak. Its passage through the mouth is pleasant and elegant, fresh and easy to drink.
