Fast forward nearly 40 years, and the winery is still producing finely honed Chardonnay like Karia, a wine which opens with aromas of peach, yellow apple, spice and a pleasing sweet cream vanilla note. The palate is alive with citrus and light honey notes that lead to a lingering, fresh, minerally finish.

    The nose has notes of blackberries, the briar patch, cedar, dried herbs and a hint of smoky black tea. The palate is structured and refreshingly generous with additional flavors of dried plums, cherry and cola. The well-knit tannins and pleasant mouthwatering acidity support a persistent finish laced with rich notes of cedar and vanilla.

    A very youthful straw yellow color. The aromas are of ripe bosc pear, fuji apple, lime and honeysuckle combined with the perfumed vanilla and a toasty oak bouquet. The flavors are very clean with ripe pear, subtle floral notes and vanilla toastiness, producing layers of complexity with an excellent balance of fresh fruit acidity and palate-weight.

    Crimson coloured, tempting all the senses, it has aromas of amaretto, fresh fig, with a hint of cherries and rich chocolate. On the palate the structure is sophisticated, with wonderful concentration and an engaging finish of fresh cherries, chocolate and spiced cake.

    The 2010 Cask 23 Cabernet Sauvignon combines the fruit of two of Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars’ best vineyards – Fay and SLV: The signature perfume notes of the Fay vineyard are beautifully complemented by the structure and minerality of S.L.V, creating a wine which has deep red and black cherry aromas, alongside notes of juicy strawberry, cocoa and spice. The wine has an elegant texture with very fine tannins and great acidity, emphasising the rich dark berry fruit, hints of cedar and wafts of white truffle that lead to a long fruity, spice-driven finish.
