  1. 2012 1860 Tempranillo, Marqués de Riscal

A black-cherry coloured wine with slight violet hues. High aromatic intensity, with aromas of ripe dark fruit, fine smoked notes with toasted aromas coming through. On the palate it is meaty and crisp, with a presence of well-polished tannins. Moderate acidity, with a long, pleasant finish in which the oak can be detected more distinctly.

  2. 2013 Alma de Vid Rosado, Bodegas Fernando Castro

Pale strawberry colour with light aromas of red fruit. The palate is delicate and fruity with a soft finish and great balance.

  3. 2012 Shiraz, Stormy Cape

    2012 Shiraz, Stormy Cape

    (6x75cl)

Generous berry fruit flavours are found on the ripe and enticing nose. The palate is medium bodied, soft and dry with a good concentration of blackcurrant fruit and spicy overtones.

  4. 2014 Heritage Sauv Blanc, Welmoed

A text-book Sauvignon with lemongrass, gooseberries and hints of tropical fruits. Intense on the palate and refreshing finish.

  5. 2013 Villa St Michel Carignan Rosé

Pale pink in the glass with a nose of fresh strawberries. Light and moreish on the palate with excellent balance.

  6. 2012 Cruz de Piedra Garnacha, Bodega Virgen de la Sierra

Ripe, fruity aromas precede spicy, warm summer fruits of redcurrant and blackberry. Well weighted with good length on the finish.

  7. 2013 Maison Saturnin Blanc, IGP Gard, Laudun Chusclan

Beautiful golden yellow colour. Nose focused on floral notes, which compliment the mineral freshness of this wine on the palate.

  8. 2012 Braucol, Domaine Vigné-Lourac

Almost opaque ruby colour; blackberry nose; dry palate with balance of sweet-tasting fruit and soft, complex tannins; has layers of smoky, spicy, berry flavours. Sounds like an anonymous "modern" wine? Not at all, this has a hint of terroir rusticity which adds character.

  9. 2013 Picpoul de Pinet, Domaine Roquemolière

The wine is crisp, light and aromatic, with remarkable freshness on the palate.

  10. 2012 Alma de Blanco Godello, Pazo das Tapias

Like its more renowned cousin, Albariño, this 100% Godello is crisp and fresh with light peach notes and a floral finish. Cool climate Spain is arguably producing some of the best fresh white styles in the world.
