  1. 2011 Chablis 1er Cru Les Vaillons, Domaine Bernard Defaix

There is a deft touch of wood surrounding the white orchard fruit and honeysuckle aromas that have glimpses of oyster shell poking through. The rich, forward and relatively generous flavours possess a seductive mouth feel and excellent complexity on the dry for the vintage finish. This should age well for the medium term.

  2. 2008 Corton Blanc Grand Cru, Domaine Maillard Père et Fils

Upfront vanilla, creamy butter, nougat, macadamia and toasted almonds are intertwined with opulent tropical fruits and spices on the nose. The palate is packed with racy minerals, peaches, apples and tropical fruits, nutty, fresh baked bread and buttery oak influenced structure. Balancing, rounded acidity draws out the finish into a persistant length that makes for an addictive combination.

  3. 2010 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru, Domaine Fernand Lecheneaut

Luxurious and incredibly complex on the nose, demanding many minutes of contemplation before tasting... and what a palate when you do! Beautifuly balanced with style, finesse and length, the mid palate is a riot of red fruit flavours, spicy oak and well integrated, fine grained tannin lasting well into its deliciously rounded, multilayered finish. Superb.

  4. 2006 Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Claude Dugat

An aromatic nose of ripe red and black cherries with a touch of underbrush. Very pure with a silky texture and lovely intensity of fruit. Seamless through to the finish.

  5. 2008 Montagny 1er Cru Les Coères, Domaine Bernollin

Brilliant gold with a hint of green. At first it shows crisp mineral notes on the nose, but after aeration it gains complexity and exotic fruit characteristics. A powerful, elegant and rich wine with bagfuls of character. Over the years it will open up to reveal honeyed, buttery and smoky notes.

  6. 2010 Chorey-Les-Beaune, Domaine Maillard Père et Fils

Aromas of morello cherry and raspberry with complex earthy elements, mouthfilling on the palate with a good concentration of red berry fruits, a lick of smooth woody vanilla and a lovely supple, textured middle supported by very fine tannins. Elegant and complex despite its concentration with a well balanced and defined finish.

  7. 2011 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Domaine Maillard

Pale, ruby red in the glass, this a pure and elegant red wine, displaying classic Pinot Noir aromas of wild strawberries and red currants. Smooth, balanced and very moreish.

  8. 2011 Mâcon Charnay Les Chênes, Domaine Manciat-Poncet

Fresh, youthfully ripe aromas of apples and some bready character, the palate is soft and succulent showing grapefruit and mineral flavours with a clean, refreshing finish.

  9. 2010 St Aubin 1er Cru En Créot, Domaine Gilles Bouton

Rather like a summer fruit pudding (+cream!) with its red berry fruit characteristics, supple, creamy texture and fresh acidity.

  10. 2009 Meursault, Domaine Jean-Michel Gaunoux

Well developed with ripe, tropical fruit on the nose and an enticing note of honey leading to an intense and concentrated palate with well balanced acidity and a crisp, clean, lengthy finish.
