  1. 2014 Sauvignon Blanc, Mansion House Bay

Straw green. Gooseberry, redcurrant and lemon aromas, full and assertive on the nose and palate. Medium to full bodied with vibrant acidity intertwined with crisp fruits. Finishes with a zesty, long finish.

  2. 2012 Maudes Crianza, Lezcano Lacalle

The wine is a deep cherry colour with prominent legs. The nose bursts full of black fruit, currants and blackberries with a spicy toasty edge. The palate is round and long with firm, silky tannins.

  3. 2013 Braucol, Domaine Vigné-Lourac

Almost opaque ruby colour; blackberry nose; dry palate with balance of sweet-tasting fruit and soft, complex tannins; has layers of smoky, spicy, berry flavours. Sounds like an anonymous "modern" wine? Not at all, this has a hint of terroir rusticity which adds character.

  4. 2008 The Ironstone Pressings GSM, d'Arenberg

On the nose we are struck by the typical dark fruits. Plums, mulberries, fresh soil and more developed peaty like notes are all apparent, with an underlying lick of exotic Indian spice.
An abundance of fresh fruits on the palate marry well with the more complex characters of quince paste, cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise and earthy beetroot. Driving the core of the wine is that vintage trademark in the form of graphite and wet stone. This wine, while appearing open and generous already, will continue to age well thanks to the lively line of acidity and the abundance of fine gritty tannins.

  5. 2013 Le Castelmaure, Corbières

An intense crimson colour with aromas of ripe raisins and red fruits. The palate is full, silky and supple.

  6. 2013 Jacques Véritier Blanc, Vin de France

Aromatic on the nose with hints of green apples and Sauvignon Blanc characteristics. On the palate it has good weight of fruit and beautifully balanced acidity that gives the wine a long, fresh, crisp finish.

  7. 2012 Tolentino Malbec, Cuarto Dominio

Black fruit and hints of spice with mocha on the nose, the palate has soft and silky tannins with rich black fruit, good concentration and a long fruity finish.

  8. NV Brut di Pinot Nero Rosé VS, Ruggeri

Cherry red with salmon pink highlights and a finely textured, consistent mousse. The nose is fresh, fragrant and inviting, offering light red fruit aromas and hints of biscuity yeast. On the palate the wine is medium bodied and dry, but possessed of a ripe cranberry fruit intensity that balances the bubbles and the crisp finish beautifully.

  9. 2013 Bonizio Toscano Rosso IGT, Cecchi

Bonizio Toscana Rosso is a skilful blend of smooth, fruity Merlot from Tuscany’s coastal Maremma zone and ripe, savoury Sangiovese from the hills of Chianti Classico. The wine is ruby red with hints of purple, offering flavours of raspberry and blackberry on the rich spicy palate. This fruit-forward style is a fresh take on Tuscan red wine, delivering uncomplicated drinking enjoyment from one of the region’s most experienced producers.

  10. 2012 The High Trellis Cabernet Sauvignon, d'Arenberg

Cooler years in McLaren Vale always lead to incredibly expressive and highly varietal Cabernets.
The High Trellis is no exception with an abundance of blackcurrant, violets and minty notes leaping from the glass.
Beautiful bright purple fruits dominate the palate, countered by typical Cabernet characters such as red capsicum skin and fresh mint.
The wine feels quite linear at this stage of its development and the combination of fruit and fine chalky tannins seems to go on and on endlessly.
A wine that can be savoured now or allowed to develop for the next five to 10 years.
